To set up DVME, follow these steps:
1) Install DVME. If it is the initial installation, DVME will be in Demo Mode. If it is an update from a prior version that was activated, the activation will still be valid.
2) If you have a DV Streaming Account or DEVOS, you may enter the values upon startup, or by selecting Settings / DV Account. Your DV Account settings are provided by Discover Video or by your DEVOS administrator.
If you do not have a DV Account, wish to use your own server, or use DVME for file capture only, then select Settings / Audio Video Type and select the desired values.
For example, to stream live video to an existing media server or CDN, uncheck "Use DV Account", then select "H264 Flash Streaming" and enter the RTMP server and stream name.
You can select:
- H.264 unicast via RTP
- H.264 multicast via RTP
- H.264 Flash via RTMP
- H.264 File Only
- Windows Media Push
- Windows Media Pull
- Windows Media File Only
- MPEG-2 Multicast
- MPERG-2 File Only
3) Start Streaming, Capturing, or Both.
A DV Streaming Account, whether from Arcus, DEVOS Premises, or DEVOS Cloud provides additional automation features that are not possible when you set up your own server. These include web remote control, automatic file upload, and remote status reporting.
