Adding Videos to Channels from Manage Channels in DEVOS

Until a video is added to a channel, it is considered "unpublished". If the video is unpublished, that means the only way a person can find and watch the video is if they are provided the link to the video page to view it. Once the video has been published to a channel, viewers can find it by navigating to the channel it is published to or searching for the video in the DEVOS search form. Individual videos can be added to one or more channels when they are created or edited on the Advanced tab in the Media section of the DEVOS Admin Portal, or multiple videos can be added to a channel in the Manage Channels section of the DEVOS Admin Portal. This article will explain how to add videos from the Manage Channels section.
Note: Only users authorized to add videos to a specific channel can perform this task. For a user to be authorized to add a video to a channel, one of the following must be true:
  1. The user must own the channel that videos are to be added to, or
  2. The user must be a member of a Team Share that owns the channel, or
  3. The user must be a member of a DEVOS Security Group that has been set in the channel settings as a group of users with rights to add or remove videos from that channel.
The Manage Channels section of the DEVOS Admin Portal has two options for views. These are the "Tree View" and the "My Channels View". Follow these steps to add videos to a channel under either view accordingly.

Adding Videos using the Manage Channels Tree View

  1. Navigate to the Manage Channels page in the Admin Portal. (If you prefer to use the My Channels View, click the button shown below and skip to that section of the article.)

  2. Find the channel that you want to add videos to, and click the Right Mouse Button to open the channel menu and select Add/Remove Videos.

  3.  In the popup window, find the content you want to add to the channel and select it in the left column on the tab of the type of content you wish to add. Move it to the right column with the > button, or move all content in the list to the channel with the >> button.

  4. Once you have selected all the content of different types to the channel, click Save Changes.

Adding Videos using the My Channels View

  1. In the My Channels View, click the arrow in the top right corner of the channel icon for the channel you wish to add videos to and select Add/Remove Videos.

  2. In the popup window, find the content you want to add to the channel and select it in the left column on the tab of the type of content you wish to add. Move it to the right column with the > button, or move all content in the list to the channel with the >> button.

  3. Once you have selected all the content of different types to the channel, click Save Changes.
