Problems with Live Streaming in Chrome Browsers
When using Chrome browsers to view live streams from DEVOS or DV Express, some users have found that certain computers are not able to connect to the stream to watch. The player just spins and never loads the HLS files for the stream. This seems to be particularly problematic when the source of the live stream is interlaced (such as 480i, 720i, or 1080i) and the encoder sending the stream either is not set to or does not allow deinterlacing of the video (for example, Mantis encoders do not have a deinterlacing function).
For most users, the solution to resolve this issue is to turn off hardware acceleration in the Chrome browser settings. This can be done by going to the Chrome settings and navigating to the System section. In this section, there is a setting that says "Use graphics acceleration when available". This setting should be turned off as shown here:
Unfortunately, if the Chrome browser installs an update, the default behavior may be to turn this feature on. This means viewers may need to turn this feature off again after updating the Chrome browser software. If this does not solve your problem, please contact Discover Video support
here.
