Stream Live to Facebook

Stream Live to Facebook

It is easy to stream live to Facebook using Streamsie and your Arcus Hosted Streaming Service. In fact, you can stream live to either Arcus or Facebook individually, or you can stream live to both simultaneously. Here is how to do it:

Step 1: Go to https://www.facebook.com/live/create?step=landing and click on "Create Live Stream"

Step 2: Choose where to post your Live Stream

Step 3: Create your live stream post by giving it a title and any topics you would like to include. Then, copy the information for the Server URL and Stream Key to enter into your Streamsie settings on Discover Video's Arcus account management site in the next step. Keep this window open, as you will need it later.

Step 4: Log in to your Arcus account at dv2.discovervideo.com and click on Streamsie Encoder Control under either Encoder Control or Live Streaming on the menu on the left.

Step 5: Select either "Stream 2" (to only stream to Facebook) or "Both (dual streaming)" (to stream to both simultaneously) at the top of the page.

Step 6: Under the Stream 2 settings, put the  Server URL from Step 3 into the RTMP Server field and the Stream Key from Step 3 in the Stream Name
field.

Step 7: Open Streamsie and connect to the Discover Video server using your Arcus credentials and click the "Stream" button.

Step 8: Go back to the Facebook window in Step 3 and wait for Facebook to identify your live stream. Once it does, just click "Go Live" and you will be streaming to Facebook!

NOTE: If you stream live to both Arcus and Facebook simultaneously, you will be sending two distinct streams from your Streamsie encoder. This will increase the CPU usage of your computer, and will increase the bandwidth you will need to stream to both places. Make sure to test first before an event to ensure your computer can handle the CPU requirements and your internet connection has enough bandwidth to deliver both streams.

If you want to test without anyone else seeing your live stream, simply set the privacy of your post in Facebook to "Only Me".
