Streaming to Arcus with VBrick 9000 Encoder

When you set up a live stream in a VBrick 9000 encoder to stream live to your Arcus streaming account, you have to create a Transmitter with your Arcus settings. To get your Arcus settings, log in to your Arcus account at dv2.discovervideo.com and click on the Arcus Settings link under Account Information. This should bring you here.

The information you need is in the section marked H.264 Live Settings - for H.264 encoders and live streaming. You will see a setting called Streaming Server and a setting called Stream Name. These are the only two pieces of information you will need to enter into the VBrick transmitter settings.

In the VBrick 9000 interface, create a transmitter and give it a name. Under the Destination, choose "Host Name" and enter the first part of the Arcus Streaming Server from the first forward slash (/) to the second. In other words, if your streaming server setting is this:

rtmp://was.eap1.sjc.miisolutions.net/DiscoverVideo-live-XX/_definst_/doPublish=XXXXX

then the Destination Host Name in the VBrick settings will be "was.eap1.sjc.miisolutions.net".

For the Destination Port, enter 1935.

For the RTMP Application, enter the rest of your Arcus streaming server setting as follows:

DiscoverVideo-live-XX/_definst_/doPublish=XXXXX

For the RTMP Stream, enter your Arcus Stream Name.

Leave the RTMP Username and RTMP Password blank.

When finished, click Apply, then Save, then Finish Edit. In order to check whether your Transmitter is connecting to the server and sending data, click on the Transmitters link under Monitor and Encoder Status. You should see the status as Transmitting and the data bytes being transferred showing ever increasing numbers.
